Mantis - Star Citizen Wiki

The Mantis is a single-seat interdiction vessel developed by Roberts Space Industries. It possesses the ability to extract targets from quantum travel through a mechanism known as "Quantum Enforcement." Possessing little armor and weaponry, the Mantis is intended to operate alongside more heavily armed allies to engage apprehended vessels. ^[1]^[2]

Features

Quantum Enforcement Device

The Mantis features a Quantum Enforcement Device (QED) with three rings at the rear, designed to inhibit quantum travel. It can be activated via "Quantum Snare" or "Quantum Dampening." It is the only ship in the game with a quantum snare.^[2]

Quantum Snare

This is a function exclusive to the Mantis' Reynie QED. It creates a "bubble" with a range of 20 kilometers around the vessel, preventing quantum travel and pulls QTing ships out of quantum. Activating the Quantum Snare requires a lengthy charging period and greatly increases emissions.^[1]

Quantum Dampening

This is another function of the QED. It prevents the activation of quantum drives of all ships within 5 kilometers while active. Unlike the snare, dampening can be activated instantly and also disables NAV mode. However, it does not pull ships out of quantum.^[1]

Quantum Markers

Along with the Quantum Enforcement Device, the Mantis can utilize Quantum Markers to track potential targets.^[1]

Living quarters

The Mantis is designed for extended quantum travel and includes a sleeping area and a restroom.^[1]
